Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex has admitted stress is affecting his side as they attempt to secure the Ligue 1 title.

“It will be difficult because Lyon want to qualify for the Champions League, so we know that it will not be easy.

“We are aware of the difficulties ahead, but we will be very focused and we will do everything to quickly get into the game and clinch victory.

Alex also praised the influence of Thiago Motta, with the midfielder returning from a three-match ban at the Stade de Gerland.

PSG will be without Silva, Marco Verratti, David Beckham and Salvatore Sirigu because of suspension, but Alex believes the return of midfielder Motta provides the league leaders with a timely boost.

He added: “The presence of Thiago Motta is very important because he knows how to organise the game and he brings a big contribution to our football. The team needs him in midfield.

“We are of course delighted that he can participate in the upcoming matches to help us achieve our goal.

He added: “If we beat Atletico, we’ll be champions, and it doesn’t matter what Real Madrid do. We are focusing on ourselves. This will be my first title and I’m very keen to be league champion.”
